What A Week!

Life-of-Jesus-Holy-Week-Timeline

Holy Week… It’s just like any other week in the 52 per year, but it doesn’t have to be!

Sunday March 20th started the week leading up to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Many people all over the world attend church on Sunday, even if they don’t go to church very often…

Easter is a big deal for churches, because it’s a big deal for the world!

This coming Sunday we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus which is the single most important event in human history, but the week leading up to the resurrection is really important as well.

Today commemorates Jesus being at the temple in Jerusalem and teaching some great things to the disciples and those who would listen. I love the teaching in Matthew 22 about the Wedding Banquet. I specifically love verse 9 when the king tells his servants “go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you can find. 10 So the servants went into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bas as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.”

Jesus made it clear that the invite into the Kingdom of God is extended to everyone. Everyone included the people that had been neglected by the religious establishment… in fact the religious elites were invited to the party, but their cold, dead, religious hearts kept them out of the wedding celebration.

This week is not about a religion you practice, it’s about a savior named Jesus Christ who came to invite men and women into a relationship with God that produces all of the things your heart really desires… all of those things can be wrapped up in one word… LOVE!

Receive Love, Be Love!

Happy Holy Week my friends. Attached it a timeline you can print out and read with family and friends in preparation for Easter Sunday

Peace
